Cochrane sent me a fitting for the PC base that allows cutting much
smaller diameters -- I don't have it here so I can't measure, but I think it
will cut down to approx. 2 1/2" - 3" diameter.

I wrote to Mr. Cochran directly. He sounds like an upstanding guy. He clearly believes in his products and that is refreshing!

He also had many nice things to say, in his opinion, about the Dremel #395. I'm not passing judgement as everyone uses their tools differently (woodworking, that is!) but here is a guy whose livelihood depends on the quality of a product overwhich he has ZERO control. His opinion has to mean something, IMHO.
